USCAP BELOW THE BELT: Pitfalls and New Entities in Anorectal, Urologic and Gynecologic Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology 2023 (CME VIDEOS)

Pathology of the lower anogenital tract, lower urinary tract, prostate, uterus, and cervix has advanced with the identification of relevant genes, better immunohistochemical markers, and the ability to readily detect human papillomavirus (HPV) using RNA in situ hybridization. New entities have recently been recognized, refinements to existing ones are possible, and new treatment, particularly immunotherapy, are available. Expert faculty will discuss newer entities and pitfalls in these areas, while also addressing diagnostic challenges in cytology and newly adopted classification schemes.

– Discuss novel recently described human papilloma virus (HPV)-associated and HPV-independent neoplasms of the lower genital tract
– Present a modern viewpoint for grading prostatic carcinoma
– Address pitfalls in diagnosing urothelial neoplasms versus those from adjoining sites, including treatment related pitfalls
– Consider mimickers of common neoplasms of the anogenital and urothelial tracts
– Establish systematic approach to diagnostic challenges in cytology
