Today in France there are 700,000 people aged 3 to 18 diagnosed as suffering from an autism spectrum disorder. The prevalence of this handicap is constantly increasing, with an increasingly precocious diagnosis: 18 months in the best case, around 3 years most often. As soon as this diagnosis is made, multiple treatments are instituted, involving at least half a dozen professionals for each child: speech therapist, psychomotor therapist, teacher, AVS (Aide à la Vie Sociale en milieu). school), educator, home educator, one other for outdoor activities. All these contributions can take place in liberal cabinets, national education classes, specialized establishments (SESSAD) and must be maintained for many years. Parents are obviously involved with these children whose particular functioning confuses them. Finally, many associations are involved in this theme. However, all of these children have a problem with language. There is a deficit in understanding due to a difficulty in representing perceptual information (sensory, auditory, etc.). There is also a deficit in expression which struggles to be adapted to communication. Language rehabilitation is therefore absolutely crucial in this disorder. This means that a few million people, making up a very varied audience, may be looking for suitable supports to manage this central aspect of care in a logic of progression justified by rigorous but accessible explanatory elements. The author offers 100 models of exercises of two types: Structuring of thought and Linguistic structuring. The exercises of the linguistic part are structured in 3 parts, the third differentiating their application in family, school and educational environments, while those of the first part are general. We speak of “models” because the exercises are primarily intended to be performed directly. But they can also serve as models inviting the design of other similar exercises from local resources, thus allowing many potential developments for readers. This is explained in the theoretical part proposed at the beginning of the book. The book is accompanied by a mini-site containing all the exercises and allowing the professional to print each exercise sheet separately.
