This year the theme of the CME Proceedings of IANCON-2019 (27th Annual Conference of Indian Academy
of Neurology) was chosen as “Stroke.”
The theme “Stroke” is divided into six parts. Part I focusses on the embryology and anatomy of brain
and spinal cord, pathophysiology of stroke, genetics of stroke, epidemiology and risk factors in stroke.
Part II focusses on the topographical classification and clinical manifestation of anterior circulation,
posterior circulation and lacunar strokes, transient ischemic attack, cardioembolic stroke, vasculitis in stroke,
evaluation and treatment of occlusive disease of the large arteries, and vascular dissection. Part III focusses
on neuroimaging in acute ischemic stroke, evaluation and overview of treatment in acute ischemic stroke
and secondary prevention, thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke. Part IV
describes uncommon causes of stroke, stroke in pediatric age group, pregnancy and stroke, and cerebral
venous thrombosis. Part V describes intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and spinal cord
stroke. Part VI describes stroke mimics, post stroke complications, and stroke rehabilitation.
