The work provides a context on climatic and biodiversity factors, to then address their role in constructions and especially on architectural eco-envelopes. The first chapter describes the peculiarities of the tropical and equatorial climate. The second chapter addresses the issue of biodiversity in general and raises a contextualization of biodiversity in the tropics and in Colombia. The third chapter integrates the concepts of climate, biodiversity and their role in buildings. The fourth chapter presents the elements for the design and implementation of green envelopes with plant species in buildings. (Adaptation of the Introduction)
