By Isabell Lütkehaus, Stephan F. Kock
Not only the demographic change leads to a different world of work and practice, but also the different wishes, expectations, values and fears of the different generations of employees – from Generation Y to the baby boomers – in medical and dental practices. Practice owners and managers in medical care centers are exposed to this change and competition for the best minds. Where yesterday it was still possible to draw on plenty, today there is a shortage of skilled workers, which has to be managed in a way that is both employee- and team-oriented.
The aim of this guide is to contribute to improving cross-generational cooperation in medical and dental practices and medical care centers. Using a consistent example, the authors describe the difficulties that need to be overcome in practice and how good and professional cooperation can succeed, in which the different needs of employees are addressed.
Helpful checklists and tips for everyday practice round off the book. In this way, practice owners find security for their daily activities, gain time for the essentials and “on the side” become attractive employers to whom the future belongs in the healthcare industry.
