Dr Marcus Harbord was appointed a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2006, specialising in inflammatory bowel disease. He has been Lead Clinician since 2007. He was previously a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital, London.
Qualifying from St. Mary’s Hospital, London in 1992, he trained at UCL, the Royal Free, and St. Mark’s Hospitals. He became an accredited gastroenterology specialist in 2002, in which year he was awarded a PhD degree for his research into acute inflammation in Crohn’s disease.
He was Chairman of the New Consultants’ Committee and member of Council of the Royal College of Physicians 2009-2011. He practices an evidence based yet holistic approach.
