By Susanne Regus
The book provides a compact overview of the etiology, clinic, diagnostics and therapy of iliac endofibrosis, a special form of peripheral arterial occlusive disease. It is aimed at doctors and physiotherapists who look after endurance athletes, but also at affected athletes themselves. The clinical picture was first described in 1985 in a cyclist. The symptoms are mostly load-related thigh pain, which endangers the career of the often ambitious athlete. Since the examination findings are usually unremarkable under resting conditions, the diagnosis can be delayed for years.
