About This Journal
BJD focuses on:

- Qualitative Outcomes Research
“The Epidemiology section welcomes epidemiological studies that improve our understanding of skin diseases and have clinical relevance in terms of disease management from prevention to diagnostics to treatment. The clinical relevance is reflected in the research question and definition of the primary outcome and the used variables. Epidemiological studies should stimulate independent thinking and challenge the status quo. We seek studies that try to prove causality as much as possible and try to move beyond the level association. Straightforward association studies and exploratory pilots can be presented in a research letter format. The robustness of the data collection and methodology used is more important than the findings and whether or not they are statistically significant. We want to encourage collaboration and favour comprehensive studies that have validated their studies in different (international) populations.
