Life with IBS is quite possible!
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common widespread diseases. About 7-10% of the population suffer from irritable bowel syndrome. That’s more than five million people in Germany. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS, IBS) is a complex, functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by chronic abdominal pain and/or altered bowel habits. Although irritable bowel syndrome is so common, patients feel inadequately informed and treated. The quality of life of those affected can suffer noticeably. The causes and triggers of IBS have not yet been sufficiently clarified.
The book explains the clinical picture and the diagnosis. Possible therapy options are explained in detail and when they are particularly effective. Influencing factors such as diet, intestinal bacteria, psychological stress and stress that promote irritable bowel syndrome are presented, and those affected receive many tips for everyday life with irritable bowel syndrome.
The book is based on the current S3 guideline for irritable bowel syndrome of the DGVS and the clinical and scientific experiences of the two authors. It is aimed at patients, relatives and consultants who work with this patient group.
