By Katharina Gisselmann
We humans are getting older. Residents in senior citizen facilities are currently still predominantly female, but more and more men are also moving into care facilities. However, the need for meaningful employment opportunities for male residents presents many employees with a major challenge: What does the “male” world of the generation that currently lives in senior citizens’ homes look like? How can men with and without dementia be integrated into everyday care and motivated to take part in social group activities?
This book is intended to sensitize the reader to the male environment and to familiarize him with it in order to be able to offer meaningful forms of employment. It contains completely prepared lesson concepts for quick preparation and good implementation of the group lessons and thus offers clear and practical ideas for further offers. The book is intended for geriatric nurses and carers and other readers who are looking for stimulating leisure activities for male seniors with and without dementia.
